Comedy for Koby Returns….Shows Start This Week!

And speaking of the conflict coming to an end….

We’re just a few days away from Avi Liberman‘s Comedy for Koby fundraiser tour with proceeds going to the Koby Mandell Foundation.  It’s just about 10 years since Avi’s first tour, founded in order to bring top-level comics to Israel when no one was visiting, to donate money to tzedaka, and to raise peoples’ morale when it could use some raising.  Based on last week’s events, what better time than now?

Anyway, who needs English proficiency?  Actually, you, if you want to enjoy these hilarious comedians:

  • Dwight Slade: The winner of this year’s Boston Comedy Festival; opener for Jay Leno, Jerry Seinfeld, Jeff Beck and Dave Chappelle; performed at prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Montreal Just For Laughs Festival; performed for US Troops in Afghanistan
  • Jimmy Shubert: Regular appearances on “King of Queens” and “Entourage”, acted with such marquee names as Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Charlize Theron, Katie Holmes, Robin Williams; half-hour special on Comed Central, his hour-long stand-up comedy special named among top ten comedy DVD’s for 2010
  • Butch Bradley: Craig Ferguson Show, Comedy Central, USO tour for the troops overseas, performed at prestigious comedy festivals in Montreal and Aspen, and much more

And of course, Avi, who has appeared on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Comedy Central, and has been making us laugh for more than ten years of tours.
