Some Things You Really Shouldn’t Buy Secondhand

Hello, my fellow Israelis! How’s your bank balance doing? Up? Down? All around? If you’ve been following the news, you know that, well…everything costs too much here. Cottage cheese, gasoline, and don’t get us started on real estate. We immigrants know however that there’s more to life than fancy cars and flat-screen TVs, which is good since most of us don’t have either of them.

While our standard of living may be lower than it was in our home countries, our quality of life here is just as high if not higher. Who needs the BEST gadgets when GOOD ENOUGH will do? There’s a whole market here of secondhand goods available on sites like Homeless, Janglo, and the appropriately named Yad2 (“second hand”) that many of us engage in regularly.

But let’s not get carried away, people. I’m as happy to save a shekel as the next guy, but some things just shouldn’t be purchased used. I don’t know…like rugalach….a bathing suit…..this.

Lightly Used Vibrator, or “LUV” for short. I think I just vomited on my keyboard.

Happy shopping, everyone. If you’re looking for me, I’ll be at Supersol.

(Thanks for the link, Mort. I think.  Can people see the links in green on my site?  The ad is linked above.)
