Tonight begins Yom Hashoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day. All public places of entertainment this evening are closed this evening as the nation remembers the tragedy of six million Jewish lives lost in the Holocaust. Restaurants, cafes, bars, movies….all closed. Tomorrow at 10 AM, the country will stand in silence as the siren blares across Israel.
At least that’s my understanding of what’s happening. Some people may interpret it differently.
Remind me, what do they light at the national tekes (ceremony)?
