Here’s another email exchange that you wouldn’t typically find outside of Israel.
Received from my accountant (British immigrant, been here 30+ years) when I was in the States:
“Benji – Bituach Leumi sent a note that they are canceling your standing order arrangement with them. This as they claim they have had three payments rejected by Bank Leumi. I suggest as soon as you return to Israel you look in to this and try and resolve the matter very quickly.”
My reply:
“Oy-I don’t even know what that means, I thought I was up to speed on payments. I am on the East Coast, 7 hours behind you. I will call your office first thing in the morning, around 3 or 4 your time Tuesday.”

Accountant:
“Benji – go back to sleep. It’s not terribly urgent and can wait until you return to the Holy Land.”
Me:
“Ok, thanks. When you said I should come back to Israel as soon as I can, I got nervous. I will be in touch as soon as I get back.”*
Accountant:
“…..well you should always return to Israel as soon as you can!!!!”

*This is after I misread his email as “you should return to Israel as soon as you can.”
Only in Israel.
