Boker tov, my loyal readers. Here’s a few things I’ve been up to recently…
My first article published in the Forward, one of the most well-known Jewish papers. It’s a short piece about the Madonna concert and no, Forward fans, it’s not in Yiddish. (All right, NY Jewish Week, you’re on the clock. My phone lines are open.)
Today’s the big 2nd annual Nefesh B’Nefesh bloggers conference or as I think I called it last year, the Jewish Star Trek convention. Here’s a Ynet article mentioning a certain “successful” humor-using blog which presents Israel as a “hip and relaxing place”. Seriously, that’s what I do? Clearly this was written by someone who neither speaks English or didn’t detect the sarcasm in my “yiyeh b’seder” posts. But hey, I’ll take it.
I’ll be performing for about 15 minutes at the conference which apparently you can watch here. I’m scheduled for 7:45-8 PM tonight Israel time. If you want to watch, I’ll leave it up to you to do the math yourself. (Tip: East coast people, subtract 7. I really hope nobody just pulled out a calculator.)
Here’s a quick TV piece on the same event, featuring some dumb oleh talking about his blog. I managed to add the subtitles myself, much easier in Imovie 09 than 06. You can actually see my brain working in overdrive as I try to conjugate “they will laugh” in Hebrew. Also mentions my friends over at The Big Felafel.
“Yes, this man actually eats chumus 35 times a week.
Let’s send it to Omer for the weather.”
Check back tomorrow for my new Rosh Hashana video!
